Colourpop eyeshadows

For the last year or so, I've been on a quest to find the perfect burgundy / deep red eyeshadow.

I've been in love with this look since I was a teen. Back then "emo" was really in fashion and I'm not gonna lie, I was kind of inspired by this guy:

But since I finished every single dark red eyeshadow, that I've bought 10 years ago (and I couldn't even find the same products to re-purchase, sadly they have been discontinues YEARS ago) I've been struggling to find anything similar. Thanks to Instagram I've found many people that share my taste in makeup and looked up the products they were using. Sadly most of them are either insanely expensive, or companies that make it don't ship to my country...
This was when I found COLOURPOP! I'm not gonna say that it's insanely cheap. It's affordable in my opinion, compared to what I make and how much I usually spend on makeup. I love that single item on Colourpop website never costs more than 10 dollars and that the shipping is international, cheap or even free (if you use a code or buy more than 50$ worth). My purchase reached me in about two weeks (which is fast) and the products were packaged very carefully and neatly. This is what it looked inside when I opened it:

The colors I bought were: Paradox, Porter and Central Perk.

The texture of shadows is unique, almost wet like when you first touch it, but as it blends outs on the skin, it feels just like regular eyeshadow.  I'm afraid that photos don't do them justice. The colors are very pigmented and intense and swatches are from just the tiniest taps onto the product with a fingertip.

Here is my second attempt to swatching them and with flash on the photo.

Introduction

Welcome to "dark beauty forever blog". My name is Elvyra and I'm an addict. My vice is beauty products. My addiction is low-key ruining my life (draining my bank account). Every night before I go to sleep I obsess over expensive new makeup products I can't afford, scrolling through instagram and pinterest, or self-hypnotizing with a never ending advertisement that is youtube. My makeup collection is small. But it's still bigger than any of my friend's. Before purchasing anything I look for reviews and swatches and I find them mostly on beauty blogs like this one. I've decided that I should give back in a way - do it myself. I love writing, but I always find excuses not to write. "Not inspired enough" would work for fiction, but one does not need to be inspired to write a review for a lipstick. This is what I looked like today:

I'm 24, I work hard and in my free time I enjoy being lazy. I have a passion for movies and music, but lately I've been spending my free hours coloring (I own a few adult coloring books) and binge watching tv shows. I like to cook and try new restaurants. I am owned by two cats.

Right now I don't have a distinct purpose for this blog, rather than write reviews on beauty products, but I may come up with something else in the future.

The name of this blog is inspired by Lana Del Rey song "Black beauty".

I know this is short introduction but I believe that everything important can be said in a few short sentences, rather than few long paragraphs.
