Sleek MakeUp Solstice Highlighting Palette Review

2016 was a year of new makeup trends such as liquid lipstick, red eyeshadow and my new love - highlighter. I've enjoyed playing with it and adding it to my makeup routine. Somehow I've talked myself into getting The famous Sleek makeup Solstice palette.

First of all I'm not mad at the packaging. It is indeed very sleek.

With or without a flash on, the product reflects light great.

The names are also very memorable. I appreciate that.

The swatches are beautiful. When applying on face, I found that a little goes a long way. I have very pale skin and it looks very good on me, I imagine it would look great on any skin tone.
This might be one of the best makeup purchases I've made in 2016 along with the Nyx Ultimate Palette. And while I still like to keep it dark and mysterious in my makeup looks, I think, that even the darkest soul can use some sunshine that is Solstice in their beauty routine.

Makeup revolution Iconic 3 eyeshadow palette review

I remember when the makeup palette buying and collecting trend started. The first eyeshadow palette to become a major trend was Naked by Urban Decay, back in 2010. Later followed the releases of Naked 2, Naked 3, Naked Smokey, and whatnot... I've only ever been interested to try Naked 3, but, I could never afford it. And recently I realized that I finally could. I've been trying out Makeup Revolution products that just appeared in my local drugstores, but couldn't convince myself to purchase any of the palettes for some reason. I have read online that Makeup Revolution  Iconic 3 is supposedly a close copy of Naked 3. And coincidentally I had just swatched Naked 3 in the store and really liked it. I eventually purchased the Makeup Revolution one that was 10 times cheaper.

Compare: Urban Decay Naked 3 on top (costs 48.95 on douglas.lt) and Makeup Revolution Iconic 3 Bellow (costs 5.79 on topbeauty.lt and on sale for 4.54 on eurokos.lt)

After swatching Iconic 3 I was convinced that I made the right decision. The only pro I have noticed in Naked 3 was softer formula (but only slightly and only in certain shades), which still wouldn't be worth it for me considering the price difference, and the guilt I'd be feeling after splurging on the Naked 3.

Swatches - Horrible, most of the shades are very close to my light skin tone. Here are my swatches with flash and without flash on compared to the one on Makeup Revolution distributor's site:

Shades 1-6 and 1 again on tattoo

Shades 7-12

More accurate watches from tambeauty.com on darker skin tone.

I am very happy with this purchase, I'd say It's 4.53 spent well :) at the moment I'm waiting until I can get my hands on Makeup Revolution New-Trals vs Neutrals palette.
